It’s Cameron!

At age 43, Conservative Party leader David Cameron made the drive to Buckingham Palace to inform the Queen that he could form a government, after reaching an agreement with the Liberal Democrats to form a coalition government, the first such arrangement in the House of Commons since Churchill headed a unity government during World War II.  I really didn’t think this alliance would happen; too many ideological differences between the two parties.  Quite frankly I put the over/under on this holding at 6 months, but we shall see.  If it did hold up as a functional government longer that would be a testament to the players involved.  Either way, I wish the new Prime Minister best of luck at the dispatch box.

***Editor’s Note*** for a much fuller explanation of the dynamics in play I suggest you read the comment that Nick left on the previous blog entry of this topic.
