Tebow the Super Bowl Ad

It seems to be stirring quite the controversy, the Focus on the Family ad to run during Super Bowl XLIV featuring Tim Tebow and his mother.  Seems that the pro-choice groups don’t like the ad and want CBS to pull it from the roster.  I say that is hogwash and CBS should run the ad.

Whether I or anyone else agrees or disagrees with the message is immaterial.  Focus on the Family paid the prevailing fair market value for that ad slot, and I assume the ad does not violate any of the typical standards of profanity or obscenity.  To me nothing else matters.  For those that don’t like the message, this is a free country and they have avenues to spread their message.  I am sure there are members of MADD and other groups that would like to pull all of the beer ads.  I am sure there are dentists and other healthy lifestyle advocates that would like to pull all of the soft drink ads, snack food ads, and etc.  I am sure there are Brett Bozell types that would like to pull the GoDaddy.com type ads.  But those ads are there because those companies paid the money for the ad time and those other groups have avenues they can spread their message also.  Focus on the Family deserves the same consideration.
