BG Hockey Sacrifices Key Home Conference Game

A home game with CCHA rival and power Michigan has been moved to neutral ice in Toledo:

This is a horrendous announcement.  If they want to play a nonconference game with somebody in Toledo that is fine by me.  If they want to move what was already scheduled as a home game with a nonconference foe that wouldn’t exactly pack the Ice House, fine.  But you DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT give up home conference games.  To do so simply conceded that you have no intention of being competitive.  To me this is just another sign that the eventual demise of the hockey program is a fait acompli.  Does anyone think that they would give up a home game against a rival, a once heated rival, if they were actually trying to win hockey games?  This is a clear as day signal that the University administration doesn’t give a shit about hockey at Bowling Green.  Consign those NCAA Championship and Olympian banners to the dustbin of history.
