Pirates Return to Normalcy

By losing 10-1 to the Mets this afternoon at Citi Field the Pirates have now lost 11 out of 12 games and an 11-7 start to the season has now been converted into a 12-18 record.  In other words, after a peculiar opening 3 weeks to the season, things again make sense on Pittsburgh’s North Shore.  Hopefully we can be like last year and settle into a pattern of having the Penguins to watch until its only a month before Camp Tomlin starts in Latrobe.  Of course, to that end it would be helpful if Sergei Gonchar is able to bounce back quickly from the wounding he suffered by Ovechkin in Game 4 last night.
