New Path for Potter Boys in Postseason

I imagine OHSAA has had this info up for awhile now, but I finally got around to checking it.  Since dropping to Division II, the Potters boys basketball team has always gone to Steubenville’s St. John Arena for Sectional play, and sometimes stayed there for districts.  Not this season.  The eastern half of the East District DII will play their sectional action at OU Belmont in St. Clairsville.  The other sectional will be at Coshocton and the two survivors of those brackets will cross for one game district co-finals in Zanesville.  Zanesville resumes its old role of hosting DII action because the Blue Devils moved back up to DI.

I have mixed feelings.  St. John Arena is one of those places that is so crappy you come to like it, between the cavernous feel, the lousy sitelines, the overpriced concessions, and paying for the priviledge of parking your car in a moon crater.  But it was also at least a half hour closer to East Liverpool that OU Eastern will be.  Oh well; have to go where OHSAA sends you, and hopefully the Potters will be able to advance down that road to Zanesville and then to Athens for Regionals.
