BG Controls Destiny in East

After midweek losses by Temple (to Kent) and Akron (to Buffalo) Bowling Green now finds themselves in the absurd position of controlling their destiny of winning the MAC East while currently sitting at 3-3 (5-5 overall).  Buffalo only has 2 losses, but they visit Doyt Perry Stadium on the 21st.  Win that game and then beat Toledo the following Friday, and the Falcons do no worse than a share of the East title with Buffalo, holding the tiebreaker.  On the other hand, a loss to the Bulls would hand Buffalo their first division title in football since joining the MAC about a decade ago.

As I wrote after the Ohio game last Saturday, I absolutely do not think merely winning the East should get BG a bowl bid unless 4 or 5 bids fall into MAC hands (they have 3 spots in bowls locked), but I would obviously love to see the ole alma mater get to Ford Field on December 5th and see what happens from there.  First things first though; need to get a rare home win against the Bulls next Friday night.
