BCS Moving to ESPN?

Could be a reality after the current deal with Fox expires at the end of the 2009-10 season:

Would be interesting from the standpoint of being the first major sports championship on cable.  But it makes more sense frankly than Fox having the BCS does for the simple fact that Disney broadcasts a massive amount of regular season college football.  Fox network does zero regular season games save their Big XII and PAC 10 deals on Fox Sports Net.  Personally, though I think it would make more sense to put at least the championship game on ABC; no one is going to miss one night of ABC regular programming in early January.  I guess we’ll see what happens.  Frankly, I would like to take the end of this contract as the time to scrap all of this nonsense in favor of deciding who has TV rights to carry college football playoff games.  But that is another discussion entirely.
