By winning 20-14 against Wheeling Park and soggy and chilly Patterson Field last night. I think the Patriots spread passing game was hampered by the soft and muddy field conditions, them being accustomed to playing their home games on field turf. Either that or the quarterback needs to work on accuracy. They key play was probably on the opening drive of the game. The Potters had a nice drive going but a negative play followed by an intentional grounding put them at 4th & 26 on the 35 yard line. You would think a fake punt would not be successful in that situation, but Park was completely caught off guard when it was a direct snap to an up back and he scampered around the left end of the line and went unmolested to the end zone. With the win the Potters are 4-4 with two games remaining. If they can beat Linsly this coming Saturday afternoon it would guarantee a non-losing season for the first time since the Bob Thayer era at East Liverpool. Go Potters!
