A parting gift for corporate America?
I don’t necessarily know that workplace safety regs need to be stronger than they currently are. But they certainly don’t need to be softer. Softening the regs will likely lead to more chronic illnesses. Aside from draining the economy, my preference is to keep actual people healthy. But what really looks bad is keeping these proposals a secret for so long and then trying to jam it in there at the last moment. If they genuinely believe this is good policy, why not keep things above-board?
