Hallelujah! I will now be able to fully enjoy The Final Four every April, and the only serious detraction from March Madness in general will be Gus Johnson wetting himself every time a team goes on a 6-0 mid-1st half run. I have thought for a long time that Clark Kellogg was being wasted sitting in a studio; he should be able to add valuable insight to his games, and Seth Davis can cover the studio adequately with Greg Gumbel (studio sets are usually short, especially in the early rounds with halftimes being mostly commercial breaks and live look-ins at other games; in later rounds they moreso have special guests to help kill the time). I also can’t help but feel glad for Jim Nantz, who has to put up with all of Packer’s nonsense the past many years. He is a good announcer that deserves better. Now his most odious assignment will be to tolerate the prattling on by Phil Simms, but Simms is getting better and even at his worst could not even think of approaching Billy Packer’s level of inanity. Again I say hallelujah!
