If anyone is curious, the United States Olympic Committee has posted an events schedule (adobe reader required):

Would appear they spread out the swimming and diving to fill more dates and to overlap each other. And, for those less familiar with these things, “Athletics” equals “Track & Field”, Artistic Gymnastics is “normal” gymnastics, and football would be soccer.
